Bird Aversion Training

March 6, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free Bird Aversion Training for Dogs

Great Barrier is home to many ground-dwelling birds, so each year the Department of Conservation host a Bird Aversion training to teach dogs to stay clear of any birds they may come across on their walks along the beach or in the bush.

We have a number of endangered seabirds who nest in the sand dunes, holes in the bank and hollow tree trunks. These birds are not just sensitive to predation, but if disturbed while nesting adults may abandon their nest completely.

All are welcome – full time/ part time residents and visitors.

Dogs must be 8 months or older.

Booking is essential – Please text Cara Fraider on 02102612322
