Located right on the water’s edge at Tryphena, one of Great Barrier Island’s gateways to beautiful beaches and intoxicating native bush and bird life. Sunset Waterfront Lodge is the perfect spot to relax and watch the sun set.

Beach Villas perfect for families, reunions with friends and small conference groups sleeping up to 5 people in each Villa. With stunning views from your own private deck over the stream and native bush and just a short walk across the lawn for sunset views on the beach.

Beachfront Studios perfect for solo travelers and romantic getaways, each studio is fully self contained and can accommodate 1-2 people. Private deck and patio looking over Tryphena Harbour with access to the beach right across the lawn.

Our boutique island beachfront setting, surrounded by native bush is perfect as a wedding venue. Accommodating up to 30 people on site in our Villas and Studios, book out the whole of Sunset Waterfront Lodge for your special day!

Volleyball on the front lawn, BBQ, smoker and fish cleaning facilities and waterfront sunset views on your own private patio. If you don’t want to go far, then we have plenty for you to do right here at the lodge.
