SUMMARY:Aotea Brewing Summer Session with Black Comet
DESCRIPTION:Aotea Brewing Summer Sessions are back for 2025 and we have one of our favourite bands returning to the motu. \nBlack Comet\, the multi-dimensional galactic funk collective founded by Ninja\, Laughton Kora (Kora\, L.A.B\, Fly My Pretties)\, delivers a groove-based journey infused with storytelling. With the band consisting of Stan Bicknell on drums \, Dan Antunovich on bass\, Poihakena Reid on keys\, sax and talkbox\, this ensemble is talent a-plenty. With the desire to express the band as a “live jam”\, they encapsulate this on the stage with their high-energy\, tight performance\, vibing off each other’s musical force. \nSince we last saw them they have been busy and this year released their first album ‘Episode 1: Looking For a New Planet’. \nThe band has been compared to the “ Millennium Falcon making the Kessel run in 12 parsecs” and we can’t wait to have them set alight the brewery in January! \nAs always at our Summer Sessions alongside wicked tunes in our chilled spot there will be a great bar range with delicious beer brewed onsite and an awesome new menu in the Good Neighbours foodtruck. \nWhat better way to spend the first Sunday of 2025. \nUnder 18s welcome with supervision from an adult ticket holder.
