And they’ll even treat you to a hot chocolate\, to still increase your stellar bliss.\nYour guide will use a laser pointer\, binoculars and an 8” telescope to showcase the most interesting features in our solar system and beyond. SUMMARY:Ahu Moana Survey - Weather dependent
DESCRIPTION:Ahu Moana Ecological Survey around Boatshed Rock at the southern end of Medlands Beach. A team of snorkelers will take a look at what lies beneath the surface. It is intended that this survey will be repeated 4 times per year along with the Schooner Bay surveys and possibly extend to other bays. There are many ways to take part\, you can snorkel\, be a support person in a vessel on the surface or join the beach crew who will look after the sausage sizzle and be there for the discussions before and after the dive. Please check in again closer to the date as weather conditions may impact dates of these surveys. Schooner Bay will be one day and Medlands the other\, depending on wind etc. If you would like to join the team of snorkelers please get in touch: medlandsecovision@gmail.com

Aotea’s skies are exceptionally clear and dark. Without the impact of artificial light\, the island is widely considered as one of the best places in the Southern Hemisphere to view the night sky. It’s the perfect place to embark on a stargazing adventure!  \nTo get the most out of your time under the stars consider a stargazing experience with small local business Good Heavens. They provide guided stargazing experiences – on top of a sand dune. Here\, the team provide moon chairs and blankets\, so that you can lean back in comfort and wonder…\nIs there a better place to appreciate our place in the universe? \nExperiences go ahead 2-4 times a week\, generally on Tuesdays/Fridays and Sundays\, but may be brought forward or postponed if the weather dictates this. Just book in on your preferred date\, your first night on the island if possible\, and note any additional dates in the comments on the booking form on or website. The Good Heavens Team is looking forward to taking you stargazing!
