SUMMARY:Womans Workshop at Motairehe Marae
DESCRIPTION:Joy\, Power and Authenticity \nHow to live your life more powerfully through loving self and communicating with purpose \nOur lives as wahine on the island can be hard\, thankless and sometimes isolated. The workshops will be full on and interactive – lots of internal work for you to do in writing and small groups – but you definitely won’t just be sitting and listening all day! You could stay at the marae\, or return home to your own bed. Sunday will be a really special time – nothing planned just time\, space and a chance to work on your thoughts from Saturday\, spend more intimate time with Shelly or just rest and get the quiet time we so desperately need in our busy lives. Childcare available. \n  \nThe presenter Shelley Davies is a descendent of Ngatiwai whose grandparents Gordon and Rene Davies grew up at Kawa\, where she has a home now. When she’s not on the island she’s running her business ShelleyDavies.com – Writing Joy & Badassery – where she trains government and corporates how to communicate more effectively through writing. \n  \nIf you want questions or want the full three day programme contact:\nLynette 09 4290 790 or motairehemarae@xtra.co.nz\nKellie 0273565567 or kellie.cleave@aoteafamilysupport.co.nz\nRegister at www.motairehemarae.co.nz/registration.html

Following the Property our will be an evening of good food\, great company and some in-depth conversations of what life is really like ‘Off The Grid’. For those keen to carry on\, there is also the option for booking a guided star gazing tour of the Island’s Dark Sky. \nTo wrap up the weekend\, on Sunday we will get the creative juices flowing and discuss different aspects of off grid living. At the Field Day event at Claris Sports Club we will have a variety of Off Grid technologies on show as well workshops and presentations. \n\nFor more information and to book into any of the tour options\, please refer to the Off the Grid website here!

SUMMARY:Women's Workshop with Shelly Davies (Motairehe Marae)
DESCRIPTION:Women’s Workshop\nWhen: Friday 12th March – Sunday 14th March\nWhere: Motairehe Marae\nRegistration (for catering and childcare purposes): www.motairehemarae.co.nz/registration\nChildren welcome and childcare available \nFriday – Dinner and inspirational speaker\nSaturday – Workshops\nSunday – Time out for women \nAbout: \nOur lives as women on the island can be hard\, thankless\, and sometimes isolated. So we invite you to take a weekend (or part of it) just for you – away from the day to day of your life. Come and learn\, share\, strengthen and be strengthened by spending time with other Barrier women\, remembering none of us are in it alone\, and most of all\, being inspired! \nShelly Davies is a descendent of Ngātiwai whose grandparents Gordon and Rene Davies grew up at Kawa\, and she has a home there now. When she’s not on the island she’s running her business ShellyDavies.com – Writing\, Joy & Badassery – where she trains government and corporates how to communicate more effectively through writing. Late last year she toured the country with Dairy Women’s Network\, speaking to women in 5 rural centres about how to find more joy and power in their lives. She’s real\, she’s down to earth\, she swears like a sailor\, and she’s counting down the days to come home! \nYou could choose just to attend the talk on Friday night\, or any of the Saturday workshops – as much or as little as you can. The workshops will be full on and interactive – lots of internal work for you to do in writing or small groups – but you definitely won’t just be sitting and listening all day! You could stay at the marae or return home to your own bed. Sunday will be a really special time – nothing planned\, just time\, space\, and a chance to work on your thoughts from Saturday\, spend more intimate time with Shelly or just rest and get the quiet time we so desperately need in our busy lives. \nNote: This is a wāhine space. We have men’s workshops planned – more info coming soon! \nWhat we’ll cover: \n· How to know and love yourself more \n· How to strengthen relationships \n· How to set and maintain boundaries \n· How to communicate more purposefully and assertively \n· How to advocate for yourself with services \n· How to find more inner power \nMore about Shelly:\nwww.shellydavies.com\nwww.youtube.com/shellydavies\nwww.shellydavies.co.nz/blog_and_testimonials \nIf you have any questions or want the full three day programme email motairehemarae@xtra.co.nz or kellie.cleave@aoteafamilysupport.co.nz or see Lynette at the Marae
