SUMMARY:Bird Aversion Training
DESCRIPTION:  \nNo bookings required. \n  \nBird Avoidance Training is taking place on Aotea on Saturday the 26 th of April in Okiwi\, Okupu\, Medlands and Tryphena.  \nBird Avoidance Training can minimise the threat of dogs injuring or killing native birds. As a responsible dog owner\, it is a key part of training your pooch and looking after our wildlife.  \nNesting time might be over for many of our shorebirds\, but there are still chicks around. Black petrel chicks fledge in April and May\, and by July and August\, our pāteke and bitterns will be starting to nest.  \nLike people\, some dogs learn faster than others\, and practice makes perfect. So\, whether your dog is a young puppy coming along for the first time or an older pet that has been before\, we encourage you to bring them along for a refresher. Bird species used are changed each season to make it relevant for the dogs. This makes it beneficial for bach owners and holiday makers that are visiting the island with their four-legged mates.  \nFor information email Chris Giblin at blackdogconservation@gmail.com
