DESCRIPTION:Aotea Ecology Vision is bringing Tairāwhiti Gisborne’s hunter and conservationist Hamiora Gibson to Aotea. Join Sam on one of a series of walks on Aotea when he will share his bush knowledge\, including on edible plants and foraging tips\, as well as the role many plants and animals play in our natural environment. \nDescription: Sam is a keen hunter gatherer. After his first visit to Aotea last year for the EcoFest\, he shared a desire to catch up with locals who have similar interests and what he has learnt to look out for when out hunting over the years that just might make a difference on the next hunt. This walk will not just be for hunters though\, rather anyone who loves to explore the bush\, forage\, hike or just wants to learn a whole heap about Aotea’s unique bush landscape is welcome. This may however change\, due to weather in the winter months. A Panui will be put up on Barrier Chit Chat fortnightly (a week prior) to advise of activities\, any date changes\, location\, and any other information we need to provide. \nThe ages for this program are 10yrs to 18yrs old. Children under 10 are most welcome to attend provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian.  \nAs we have limited transportation\, we ask\, if possible\, to please drop off and pick up\, your Taiohi/Tamariki at the location of their chosen activity.  \nKai will be provided\, (unless your child has severe food allergies). Your Taiohi/Tamariki must bring their own snacks and drink bottles. DESCRIPTION:Hey my beautiful island \nAnd Attention army volunteers…..\nMeet Mr and Mrs Kiri & Annette Parker.\nAbsolutely lovely couple.\nShe’s beautiful as and the first minute she saw me she had a massive smile and said WOW “where did you come from” i simply said the universe sent me.  and she’s batteling Alzheimer’s badly and needs full time care which Keri does himself but needs respite care when he’s away plus to make it harder he is also fighting cancer of the kidneys and is off for surgery on the 28th of this month.\nA bit of background on these two lovely people…she’s was a police officer for many yrs and he was an engineer they moved to the island 20 plus yrs ago for a better life.\nThey couldn’t have children of their own so they adopted children from welfare and gave them a beautiful life.\nNow this family definitely tick the box for some community loving.\nThere’s a hell of a lot to be done in a 6 hr day\, but I’d say with 20 plus people we could smash out 2 yrs of work.\nI have a list of what needs doing.\nI just met them this morning and spent a few hours talking to them.\nAbsolutely beautiful souls \nSO MY ARMY\nI’m going to need as many hands on deck on the sunday 23rd June ( this month) 2 weeks away at 10am in the beautiful township of Okiwi.\nPark at the church it’s the house behind it in the same driveway\nLunch and knibbles is definitely all provided and a few beverages after.\nThey are very humble people and I’ve talked them into letting our island army come show them some love.\nLet’s show the north some southern charm.\nIt’s only a 39 minute drive from tryphena.\nIf you need a lift let me know asap so I can rally up transport for you in some way.\nThe job is a mission which isn’t hard in numbers.\nI’ll need all people with all experiences.\nSO LETS DO THIS AND GET IN AND GET IT DONE \n\n\nkindness is the best gift you can give.\n\n\nRadiate pure good energy \nLeon foster
